Coach Taylor Inspiration

Today, Baby Boy Bump, we visit the doctor.

Hopefully she’ll give us the news that you decided to turn and are now in the head down, legs up, it’s-go-time position. At the end of this week, we will be at 35 weeks which means that you have another two weeks to turn on your own before they suggest turning you themselves. I’d like to avoid this. I have complete confidence in our team: the doctors, your dad, myself, and mostly, you but I need a pep talk all the same.

So I went to the king of pep talks, Coach Eric Taylor of Friday Night Lights.

Man, can this guy deliver a speech!

If you’ve never seen Friday Night Lights, you have not yet experienced life fully. Friday Night Lights was the best television show ever and Coach Taylor made you want to be a Dillon Panther if for no other reason than to be the grasshopper to his Master Splinter.

So today, to get my head on right, I watched a few Friday Night Light Coach Taylor speeches on YouTube.

Clear eyes, full hearts… can’t lose.

Give all of us gathered tonight the strength to remember that life is so fragile. We’re all vulnerable and we will all at some point in our lives… fall. We will all fall. We must carry this in our hearts, that what we have is special; that it can be taken from us and that when it is taken from us we will be tested to our very souls. We will now all be tested. It is these times, it is this pain that allows us to look inside ourselves.

Who is your inspirational Coach Taylor?
