30 Mexican Instagram Shots That Have Me Stoked about Mexico

February 17, 2017

We are in the midst of Dominican Heritage month here in DR, but for obvious reasons, I have Mexico on the mind. I’ve exchanged emails with another Jen in Guadalajara, asking questions and trying to build – as best I could – an understanding of what we’re getting ourselves into. I’ve searched around for blogs based in Mexico to get a feel for what life will be like there. And Instagram has me bubbling with anticipation. I searched hashtags like #culturamexicana #diadelosmuertos #mexicanfashion and #mexicanbloggers and these Mexican Instagram pictures are the result. Exploring Mexico is going to be awesome for so many reasons but here are 30…

Because Chichen Itza is an obvious duh!

because the culture is so rich

Because their history is valued

And Margs, of course!

Because there are so many beautiful landscapes that I’ll have to make another list just for travel, but here’s a few

There are few things that can stir the soul as much as being involved in a #seaturtlerelease, such as what happens with the Palmarito #SeaturtleRescue organization, just outside of #puertoescondidooaxaca.⠀ ⠀ The #leatherbackturtle can grow up to two meters long, and weigh in at over 900kg. They're the largest turtle species and are critically endangered.⠀ ⠀ The #Palmarito rescue operation saves 40,000 – 60,000 turtles annually through their exhaustive and non-stop efforts, and all from a tiny tent w/ some dark screening tacked up on the end of a windy beach…truly amazing🙏 ⠀ Look for more images and feature article coming soon on this, but for now, enjoy the moment as these two little guys start their incredible journey, as instinct guides them into the setting sun and the mysterious waters beyond.⠀ ⠀ #NikonAmbassador ⠀ ⠀

because I get to explore it all with my family!

    1. I’m going to find all the fun things for you and I to romp around and enjoy! Mostly, the margs and mariachi music. Some more midnight dancing perhaps?
