SnapShots: There’s Something Happening Here

December 9, 2011

A month used to seem like such a long time.

Last Wednesday, Rafa turned 2 months and it was an incredible second month. After giving myself permission to not feel guilty about not breastfeeding, motherhood became what I hoped it would. When I dropped the mommy guilt, it became love beyond belief. I understand the want to protect her from all ugliness and shield her from getting hurt or feeling pain.

The painting was made by a friend and amazing woman. She is an English teacher and painter and made this for Rafa when she was still in my belly. Thank you, Linda Mishkin. You inspired this months’ photo shoot. As Linda was right. She makes a perfect flower child, “OMG…she’s a hippie… a flower child… I KNEW it.”
